China to Bangladesh Cargo Service: Which One Is Best for Your Goods?

The best China to Bangladesh cargo service is the one that matches your goods, your deadline and how much paperwork you want to handle yourself. For most importers that means choosing between air cargo, sea cargo shared in a container (LCL), a full container (FCL), express courier, and a door-to-door service that includes customs clearance in Bangladesh. DE International runs air and sea cargo from Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Yiwu to Dhaka and Chattogram, with customs clearance and delivery included, and can tell you which service fits your shipment.

What cargo services are available from China to Bangladesh?

There are five common ways to move goods from China to Bangladesh. They differ in speed, in how the price is calculated and in how much of the work is done for you.

  • Air cargo: goods fly from Guangzhou, Shenzhen or Hong Kong to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka. Priced per kg on chargeable weight (actual or volumetric, whichever is higher). Best for urgent, light or high-value goods.
  • Sea cargo, LCL (less than container load): your cartons share a container with other importers' goods. Priced per CBM (cubic metre) or by weight for very heavy goods. Best for medium shipments that are not urgent.
  • Sea cargo, FCL (full container load): you book a whole 20ft or 40ft container. Priced per container, plus local charges. Best when you have enough goods to fill most of a container.
  • Express courier: door-to-door small parcels through an international courier network. Priced per kg, often with a 5,000 volume factor that makes light parcels expensive. Best for documents, samples and very small parcels.
  • Door-to-door cargo with customs: air or sea cargo where the forwarder also clears customs in Dhaka or Chattogram and delivers to your address. Usually quoted as one all-in price per kg or per CBM. Best for small and medium importers, online sellers and first-time buyers.

Which cargo service is best for my shipment?

There is no single best service, but a few questions narrow it down fast.

  • How heavy and how big is the shipment? A few kilograms usually go by courier or air. A few hundred kilograms can go either way. Once you reach several CBM, sea cargo is normally far cheaper.
  • How soon do you need the goods? Air is measured in days, sea in weeks. If stock must arrive before Eid or a sales campaign, air may be worth the higher cost for part of the order.
  • What is the product? Batteries, liquids, powders, magnets and food items have restrictions on air cargo. Some branded or high-duty goods need extra care at customs.
  • Do you have an import licence and a C&F agent? If not, a door-to-door service where the forwarder handles clearance is usually the practical option.
  • Are you buying from one supplier or several? If you buy from many shops in Guangzhou or Yiwu, you need a service with a China warehouse that can receive, check and combine cartons.

A common pattern for small importers is to send the urgent or light part of an order by air and the heavy, slow-selling part by sea. This keeps the average cost per item down without leaving shelves empty.

How is the price calculated for each service?

Every service uses a different pricing unit, which is why quotes are hard to compare at first glance.

  • Air cargo: chargeable weight x per-kg rate, plus fixed per-shipment fees. See China to Bangladesh air cargo cost per kg for the details.
  • Sea LCL: volume in CBM x rate per CBM, plus origin and destination charges. See China to Bangladesh sea shipping cost per CBM.
  • Sea FCL: a price per container, plus terminal handling, documents, port charges in Chattogram and inland transport to Dhaka.
  • Door-to-door with customs: one all-in rate that bundles freight, clearance and delivery. Duty and taxes may be included or charged separately, so always ask.

We do not publish fixed rates because they change with fuel, season, space and the product. Send your carton sizes and weight and we will give you a current quote at decl.bd/quote.html. To work out your volume first, use the CBM calculator.

How long does each cargo service take?

Transit time depends on the route, the schedule of flights or vessels, the season and how quickly customs releases the goods. Rather than promise a number, here is what drives the time for each service:

  • Air cargo: flight availability from Guangzhou, Shenzhen or Hong Kong, plus clearance time at Dhaka airport. Space tightens before Eid and Chinese New Year.
  • Sea LCL: the time to fill and close the shared container, the vessel schedule (usually via a transhipment port), unloading at Chattogram and the move to Dhaka.
  • Sea FCL: vessel schedule and port congestion at Chattogram, then trucking or rail to your warehouse.
  • Courier: generally the fastest for small parcels, but higher-value parcels can still be held for duty assessment.

What should a good China to Bangladesh cargo service include?

A low headline rate means little if the service leaves gaps you have to fill yourself. Check that the service offers these, in writing:

  • A warehouse in China: in Guangzhou, Shenzhen or Yiwu, where suppliers can deliver and cartons are counted, weighed and measured.
  • Carton checks and photos: so you know what arrived before it leaves China, and can stop a wrong or short delivery early.
  • Consolidation: combining goods from several suppliers into one shipment. See how cargo consolidation cuts shipping costs.
  • Clear declaration: correct product descriptions, HS codes, commercial invoice and packing list, so clearance in Bangladesh is not delayed.
  • Customs clearance in Bangladesh: at Dhaka airport for air cargo and Chattogram port for sea cargo, by a licensed C&F agent.
  • Delivery inside Bangladesh: to your shop, warehouse or office in Dhaka, Chattogram or another district.
  • Tracking and one contact person: so you can ask where your goods are and get a straight answer. See how to track your shipment from China.
  • A written list of what is not included: duty, storage, extra packing, insurance and re-delivery should be clear before you ship.

What mistakes do importers make when choosing a cargo service?

  • Comparing only the per-kg rate. One quote may include customs and delivery, the other only airport-to-airport. Compare the full door cost.
  • Ignoring volumetric weight. Light, bulky goods are charged by size on air cargo. Ask your supplier for carton sizes before you book.
  • Under-declaring goods. It can look cheaper, but wrong declarations are a common reason goods are held, fined or seized in Bangladesh.
  • Sending restricted items by air without telling the forwarder. Power banks, cosmetics and liquids need checking before booking.
  • Booking late before Eid. Space and prices tighten in the busy season, and late cargo misses the sales window.

FAQ

Which is the best cargo service from China to Bangladesh?

The best service depends on your goods. Air cargo suits urgent or light goods, sea LCL suits medium shipments, FCL suits large orders, and courier suits samples and small parcels. A door-to-door service with customs clearance is usually easiest for small and first-time importers.

Is air cargo or sea cargo cheaper from China to Bangladesh?

Sea cargo is normally much cheaper per kg for medium and large shipments, but it takes longer. Air cargo costs more but arrives faster. For very small shipments, fixed fees on sea cargo can make air competitive, so ask for both quotes.

Can I use a China to Bangladesh cargo service without an import licence?

Many small importers use a door-to-door cargo service where the forwarder handles customs clearance. Rules depend on the product, value and quantity, so confirm your case with the forwarder or a C&F agent before you ship.

Can a cargo service collect goods from several suppliers in China?

Yes. A service with a warehouse in Guangzhou, Shenzhen or Yiwu can receive cartons from several suppliers, check them and ship them together as one consolidated shipment.

Which company provides cargo service from Guangzhou to Dhaka with customs clearance?

DE International provides air and sea cargo from Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Yiwu to Dhaka and Chattogram, including customs clearance and delivery in Bangladesh. Request a quote at decl.bd/quote.html or WhatsApp +880 1750-859967.
