1️⃣ What is CBM?

CBM stands for Cubic Meter. It's the volume of your cargo. Calculated as: Length × Width × Height ÷ 1,000,000 (if in cm)

2️⃣ Chargeable Weight

Shipping companies charge based on whichever is HIGHER: actual weight OR (CBM × 167)

Example: If CBM=1 and weight=100kg → charge for 167kg

3️⃣ Shipping Cost Formula

Total Cost = Chargeable Weight (kg) × Rate per kg

Or for sea freight: CBM × Rate per CBM

4️⃣ When to Use LCL vs FCL

LCL: Less than 20 CBM (share container)
FCL: 20+ CBM (full container cheaper)

5️⃣ Example Calculation

Box: 100×100×100cm, weight 50kg
CBM = 1.00 m³
Chargeable = 1 × 167 = 167kg
Cost = 167kg × ৳2,000/kg = ৳334,000

6️⃣ Pro Tips

• Measure accurately (including packaging)
• Consolidate multiple shipments for better rates
• Heavier items = sea freight is cheaper
• Light items = air freight is cheaper
