DDP Shipping from China to Bangladesh Explained
DDP — Delivered Duty Paid — is the most hands-off shipping term you can ask for. Under DDP, your freight partner takes care of everything: pickup in China, export clearance, sea or air freight, import duties, and final delivery to your door in Bangladesh. You place the order and receive the goods. Nothing in between is your problem.
What DDP actually covers
Under a true DDP quote, the price you are given is the price you pay. It includes:
- Pickup from the factory or supplier in China
- Export customs clearance in China
- Sea or air freight to Bangladesh
- Import customs clearance, including duties, VAT, and other charges
- Final delivery to your warehouse or address
How DDP compares to other Incoterms
Most other Incoterms, such as EXW, FOB, and CIF, leave at least the destination-side duties and delivery to you. DDP is the only common term where your freight partner is responsible for the entire journey, including the import duties owed in your own country.

- Always confirm in writing exactly which duties, taxes, and fees are included before you agree to a DDP price
Is DDP right for you?
DDP works best when you value certainty and simplicity over squeezing out the lowest possible cost, or when you are importing for the first time and would rather not deal with a Bangladeshi customs broker directly. Frequent, high-volume importers who already have a customs process in place sometimes find FOB works out cheaper.
