Shenzhen & Guangzhou to Dhaka Cargo: Air and Sea, Door to Door

To ship goods from Shenzhen to Dhaka, you send them by air cargo from Shenzhen Bao'an Airport (or nearby Hong Kong) to Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka, or by sea from a Shenzhen port such as Yantian or Shekou to Chattogram, then by road to Dhaka. DE International handles both routes door-to-door: your supplier delivers to the receiving warehouse we give you, we check and ship the cartons, clear customs in Bangladesh and deliver to your address in Dhaka. Which route is right depends on weight, volume, product type and how soon you need the goods.
Prices at a glance: door-to-door air cargo from Shenzhen or Guangzhou to Dhaka starts from ৳760 per kg (about 5–7 days), and sea cargo from ৳120 per kg (about 20–30 days). These are starting prices for general goods; the exact rate depends on your product and chargeable weight. See the full China to Bangladesh shipping cost guide.
Why do so many Bangladeshi importers ship from Shenzhen?
Shenzhen is the electronics capital of south China. Huaqiangbei market and the factories in Shenzhen, Dongguan and Huizhou supply a large share of the mobile accessories, chargers, earphones, smart watches, LED lights, CCTV cameras, small appliances and electronic parts sold in Bangladesh.
Shenzhen also has two of the busiest container ports in the world, Yantian and Shekou, an international airport at Bao'an, and Hong Kong right next door. That gives importers more sailings and more flight options than most Chinese cities. If you are buying electronics for the first time, read our beginner's guide to importing electronics from Shenzhen first.
What are the ways to ship from Shenzhen to Dhaka?
There are four common options. Each is priced on a different basis.
- Air cargo: cartons fly from Shenzhen Bao'an Airport, or are trucked to Hong Kong airport, then fly to Dhaka directly or through a hub. Priced per kg of chargeable weight. Best for urgent, light or high-value goods such as phone accessories and samples.
- Sea cargo, LCL (shared container): your cartons share a container with other importers' goods, from Yantian or Shekou to Chattogram, usually with a transhipment stop. Priced per CBM. Best for medium shipments that are not urgent.
- Sea cargo, FCL (full container): you book a whole 20ft or 40ft container, loaded at the factory or the warehouse. Best when your order fills most of a container.
- Door-to-door cargo with customs clearance: air or sea cargo where the forwarder also clears customs at Dhaka airport or Chattogram port and delivers to your shop or warehouse. The simplest choice for most small and medium importers and online sellers.
For a side-by-side view of the two main modes, see sea freight vs air freight from China to Bangladesh.
How do Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Hong Kong compare as starting points?
- Shenzhen: best for electronics, gadgets, LED and lighting, and parts from Dongguan and Huizhou factories. Strong sea options from Yantian and Shekou, air from Bao'an or Hong Kong.
- Guangzhou: best for garments, fabric, shoes, bags, cosmetics and packaging. Air from Baiyun Airport, sea from Nansha. See our Guangzhou to Dhaka cargo guide.
- Hong Kong: not usually where you buy, but often where air cargo leaves from, because of the number of flights and the space available.
Goods from Shenzhen and Guangzhou are only a short truck ride apart, so they can be combined into one shipment when that is cheaper.
How does Shenzhen to Dhaka air cargo work?
- Step 1: Your supplier delivers the cartons to the warehouse address we give you, with your shipping mark on every carton.
- Step 2: The warehouse counts, weighs, measures and photographs the cartons.
- Step 3: We check the goods for restricted items. This matters a lot for Shenzhen goods, because power banks, lithium batteries, devices with built-in batteries and magnets all need correct declaration and packing, and some cannot go by air at all.
- Step 4: The commercial invoice, packing list and air waybill are prepared and the cargo is booked from Shenzhen Bao'an or Hong Kong to Dhaka.
- Step 5: At Dhaka airport a C&F agent lodges the bill of entry, customs assesses duty, and the goods are released.
- Step 6: The cargo is delivered to your address in Dhaka or sent on to another district.
Air cargo is charged on chargeable weight: the actual weight or the volumetric weight, whichever is higher. Electronics are usually dense, but bulky retail packaging can still push up the volumetric weight. See how volumetric weight works, and for battery rules read shipping batteries and liquids by air.
How does Shenzhen to Dhaka sea cargo work?
- Step 1: Cartons arrive at the warehouse in Shenzhen and are checked, measured and labelled.
- Step 2: For LCL, your cartons go into a shared container with other importers' cargo. For FCL, your own container is loaded at the factory or the warehouse.
- Step 3: China export customs clears the goods and the container goes to Yantian or Shekou, whichever has the better sailing for Chattogram.
- Step 4: The vessel sails to Chattogram, normally via a transhipment hub such as Singapore, Port Klang or Colombo.
- Step 5: At Chattogram port the container is unloaded, customs assesses duty and the goods are released. For LCL, the container is unstuffed and cartons are separated by owner.
- Step 6: The cargo travels by truck, covered van or rail from Chattogram to Dhaka and is delivered to you.
The port stages are explained in what happens to your cargo after it arrives at Chattogram.
How much does cargo from Shenzhen to Dhaka cost?
We do not publish fixed rates, because prices move with fuel, season, space and the goods themselves. These are the parts that make up the price.
- Freight: air is priced on chargeable weight per kg, sea LCL per CBM, FCL per container.
- Product type: battery goods, branded electronics, liquids and cosmetics can need special packing, extra checks or a different route, which changes the cost.
- Season: space gets tight before Eid, before Chinese New Year and around China's October Golden Week, and rates often rise.
- Origin charges in Shenzhen: supplier pickup, warehouse handling, repacking, export documents.
- Destination charges in Bangladesh: airport or port handling, C&F fees, storage and transport to Dhaka.
- Customs duty and taxes: set by the HS code and the assessed value of your goods, not by the forwarder. Always ask whether a quote includes duty.

How long does shipping from Shenzhen to Dhaka take?
There is no single fixed transit time. It depends on:
- Air cargo: flight space from Shenzhen or Hong Kong, whether the cargo goes through a hub, battery checks, and how quickly it clears at Dhaka airport.
- Sea LCL: how long the shared container takes to fill and close, the vessel schedule, the transhipment connection, unloading at Chattogram and the road trip to Dhaka.
- Sea FCL: the vessel schedule, congestion at Chattogram and inland transport.
Ask for the current schedule together with your quote. Our guide on how long shipping from China to Bangladesh takes explains each stage.
What documents do I need for cargo from Shenzhen to Dhaka?
You need a commercial invoice with true descriptions and values, a packing list that matches the cartons, and an air waybill or bill of lading. Battery goods may also need a battery safety document from the supplier. Commercial importers in Bangladesh may need an IRC, LC documents, or permits for regulated products such as some wireless devices. With a door-to-door service the forwarder prepares most of this. See documents needed to clear customs in Bangladesh, and confirm the current rules for your product with a C&F agent before you order.

- Pickup: we collect from your supplier or market in Guangzhou and bring the goods to our warehouse, where cartons are counted, checked and consolidated with any Shenzhen orders.
- Air: goods fly from Guangzhou Baiyun Airport (or via Hong Kong for batteries and liquids) to Dhaka, door to door in about 5–7 days.
- Sea: goods leave from Guangzhou's Nansha port or a Shenzhen port to Chattogram, then by road to Dhaka, about 20–30 days door to door.
- One shipment: if you buy in both Guangzhou and Shenzhen, combine the orders into one consolidated shipment to save on fixed costs. See Guangzhou sourcing guide.
FAQ
How do I send cargo from Shenzhen to Dhaka?
Your supplier delivers the goods to a forwarder's warehouse in Shenzhen. The forwarder ships them by air to Dhaka or by sea from Yantian or Shekou to Chattogram, clears customs and delivers to your address.
Is air or sea cargo better from Shenzhen to Dhaka?
Air is faster and suits urgent, light or valuable goods such as phone accessories. Sea is much cheaper for heavy or bulky orders but slower. Many importers send the urgent part by air and the rest by sea.
Can I ship power banks and battery products from Shenzhen to Dhaka?
Often yes, but with strict conditions.
