Does Alibaba Ship to Bangladesh? How Shipping Works and What It Costs

Yes, Alibaba suppliers ship to Bangladesh, but Alibaba.com itself is a marketplace, so the shipping is arranged either by the supplier or by your own freight forwarder. Most Bangladeshi buyers get the best result by buying on EXW or FOB terms and letting a China-to-Bangladesh forwarder collect the goods, ship them by air or sea, clear customs and deliver. DE International does exactly this from Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Yiwu to Dhaka and Chattogram. The cost depends on weight, volume, product type, shipping method and whether customs duty is included.

Does Alibaba actually ship to Bangladesh?

Alibaba.com connects you with thousands of Chinese factories and trading companies. It does not run one shipping service for every order. When you place an order, one of three things happens:

  • The supplier quotes shipping for you. Many suppliers can add express courier or freight to your order, sometimes through Alibaba's own logistics options.
  • The supplier ships to a port only. On FOB terms the supplier delivers the goods to a Chinese port and your job starts there. Someone still has to book the freight to Chattogram and clear customs.
  • Your forwarder collects the goods. The supplier delivers to your forwarder's warehouse in China, and the forwarder handles everything to your door in Bangladesh.

So the real question is not whether Alibaba ships to Bangladesh, but who handles the shipping and who handles customs in Bangladesh. Before you pay, read our guide on how to find a reliable supplier on Alibaba.

What are the ways to get an Alibaba order to Bangladesh?

  • International express courier (supplier arranged): best for samples and very small parcels. Fast and simple, but charged at express rates, and Dhaka duty and clearance are often billed separately.
  • Air cargo through a forwarder: best for urgent orders, light goods and higher-value items in cartons. Priced per kg of chargeable weight. The forwarder can include customs clearance at Dhaka airport and delivery.
  • Sea cargo LCL (shared container): best for medium orders that are not urgent. Priced per CBM. Your cartons share a container to Chattogram with other importers' goods.
  • Sea cargo FCL (full container): best when one order, or several orders combined, fills most of a 20ft or 40ft container. Priced per container.

Which shipping term should I choose on Alibaba: EXW, FOB, CIF or DDP?

The trade term on your Alibaba order decides where the supplier's job ends and yours begins.

  • EXW (Ex Works): you or your forwarder collect from the factory. Lowest product price, but you handle China export as well. Works well if your forwarder picks up and does export clearance.
  • FOB (Free On Board): the supplier clears China export and delivers to the port or to your forwarder's warehouse. This is the most common and usually the cleanest choice for Bangladesh.
  • CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight): the supplier pays sea freight to Chattogram. It looks convenient, but destination charges at Chattogram are often high and outside your control, so the cheap freight can turn expensive.
  • DDP (Delivered Duty Paid): the seller or a forwarder delivers to your door with duty paid. Simple, but check carefully who is clearing customs and on what declared value.

How much does Alibaba shipping to Bangladesh cost?

There is no single rate, and any fixed price you see online is probably out of date. These are the parts that make up the cost:

  • Freight: express and air cargo are priced on chargeable weight (actual or volumetric, whichever is higher). Sea LCL is priced per CBM, FCL per container.
  • China-side charges: pickup from the supplier, warehouse handling, repacking or palletising, and export documents.
  • Product type: batteries, liquids, powders, magnets, cosmetics and branded goods may need special packing, extra checks or a different route.
  • Season: space gets tight before Eid, before Chinese New Year and around China's October Golden Week, and rates often rise.
  • Bangladesh-side charges: airport or port handling, C&F agent fees, storage if clearance is slow, and transport to your address.
  • Customs duty and taxes: set by the HS code and the assessed value of your goods. This is often the biggest single cost and it is not decided by the forwarder.

A supplier's "shipping cost" on Alibaba usually covers only the freight line. Always ask whether a quote includes Bangladesh customs clearance, duty and delivery. To compare fairly, work out your volume with the CBM calculator, then ask us for a current quote for your goods at decl.bd/quote.html. How do I ship an Alibaba order through a freight forwarder?

  • Step 1: Agree the product, price and trade term (EXW or FOB) with the supplier on Alibaba, and pay through a safe method such as Trade Assurance or a bank transfer to the company account.
  • Step 2: Get the warehouse address and shipping mark from your forwarder and send them to the supplier. Ask the supplier to write the shipping mark on every carton.
  • Step 3: The supplier delivers to the warehouse in Guangzhou, Shenzhen or Yiwu. The warehouse counts, weighs, measures and photographs the cartons, so you can catch short or wrong deliveries before the goods leave China.
  • Step 4: If you bought from several suppliers, the cartons are combined into one shipment with one set of documents.
  • Step 5: The forwarder books air cargo to Dhaka or sea cargo to Chattogram and prepares the commercial invoice, packing list and air waybill or bill of lading.
  • Step 6: In Bangladesh, a C&F agent lodges the bill of entry, customs assesses duty, and the goods are released and delivered to you.

Combining orders from several Alibaba suppliers is often where the biggest saving is. See how cargo consolidation cuts shipping costs.

What about customs duty and documents in Bangladesh?

Every Alibaba order that enters Bangladesh goes through customs. Duty is worked out from the HS code of your product and the assessed value, and can include customs duty, supplementary duty, VAT, advance income tax and other charges depending on the product. Read import duties and taxes in Bangladesh explained for how these fit together.

The basic documents are a commercial invoice with true descriptions and values, a packing list that matches the cartons, and the air waybill or bill of lading. Commercial importers may also need an IRC, LC documents, or permits for regulated goods such as some electronics, food and cosmetics. Rules change, so confirm the current requirements for your product with a C&F agent before you order.

What mistakes do Bangladeshi buyers make with Alibaba shipping?

  • Choosing CIF because it looks cheap, then paying high destination charges at Chattogram.
  • Accepting the supplier's courier price without asking who pays duty and clearance in Dhaka.
  • Ignoring volumetric weight on light, bulky goods, so air cargo costs far more than expected.
  • Under-declaring the value on the invoice, which can lead to reassessment, fines or delays at customs.
  • Paying a personal account instead of the supplier's company account. See how to pay Chinese suppliers safely.

FAQ

Does Alibaba ship to Bangladesh?

Yes. Alibaba suppliers can ship to Bangladesh by express courier, air cargo or sea freight. Because Alibaba is a marketplace, the shipping is arranged by the supplier or by your own freight forwarder, not by one Alibaba service.

What is the cheapest way to ship from Alibaba to Bangladesh?

For heavy or bulky orders, sea cargo to Chattogram is usually the cheapest, either LCL for medium orders or FCL for full containers. For small, light orders, consolidated air cargo through a forwarder is often cheaper than express courier. Buying on FOB or EXW terms gives you the most control over cost.

How much is Alibaba shipping cost per kg to Bangladesh?

It depends on chargeable weight, product type, season, the shipping method and whether customs duty and delivery are included. Rates change often, so ask for a current quote with your carton details rather than relying on an old price.

Which company can receive my Alibaba order in China and deliver it to Dhaka?

DE International receives Alibaba orders at its warehouse in China, ships by air or sea, clears customs in Dhaka or Chattogram and delivers to your door. Request a quote at decl.bd/quote.html or WhatsApp +880 1750-859967.
