Why Pre-Shipment Quality Inspection Saves You Money

It is tempting to skip inspection to save a little time or money. It is also one of the most expensive mistakes an importer can make. Here is why a pre-shipment inspection almost always pays for itself.
The core principle
A quality problem is cheap to fix in China and expensive to fix in Bangladesh. Once goods leave the factory, your options shrink and your costs grow. Inspecting before shipment is your last, best chance to catch problems while the supplier can still fix them at no cost to you.
What inspection covers
A good pre-shipment inspection checks:
- Quantity, that you are getting what you paid for
- Quality, the workmanship, materials, and finish
- Function, that the product actually works
- Specification, that it matches what you ordered
- Packaging, that it will survive the journey
What can go wrong without it
Importers who skip inspection sometimes receive:
- Fewer units than ordered
- The wrong color, size, or model
- Defective or non-functioning items
- Poor packaging that leads to damage in transit
By the time these arrive in Bangladesh, returning or replacing them is slow, costly, and sometimes impossible.
When to inspect
The most valuable moment is after production is complete but before payment of the balance and before shipping. That timing gives you maximum leverage with the supplier.
How we help
Our team inspects samples and production batches in person before anything ships. If something is wrong, we work with the factory to fix it while you still hold the leverage of unpaid balance and unshipped goods. Protect your order and ask us to inspect before you ship.
